When you only burn 80min data I've tested the CD-Rs at the speed 12x/16x on the LG-Berner, they worked for most dvd player ok. On the other hand I've not enough time to burn all CDs at 4x, also not enough money to buy Verbatium, so I must live with the new situation(max. But on Verbatium CD-Rs I can get more data - over 82'20" at 8x. Later I have a 24x LG-burner, I can only burn 81'55" data on the neu 40x Platinum 80min CD-R at the speed 8x. Earlier I had a 8x burner I could burn 82'45" on Platinum 80min CD-R when I burn the CDs at speed 2x/4x. I've burned thousands DivX-CDs/VCDs/SVCDs with overburing. The tracks on cdr over 80min are very weak. All worked fine.īut - the world would be much beautiful whitout "but" - the reduce of of burning speed DOES have its advantage: in case of extreme overburing(for example, 82min-83min on a 80min cdr). However, older DVD players wont necessarily recognize and play home-burned DVDs.

I've tested the cdr with 8x burned in more than 36 DVD-Player/VCD-Player/even in very, very old HiFi equipments. Fact that you can play the discs in your standalone player very well, is not the good luck whitch ONLY YOU have.
